The New York Times online bookstore is launching a new e-reader for US citizens on Tuesday.
The digital edition of the paper, which will be available in the coming weeks, will include a selection of popular authors and titles.
Amazon is one of the largest e-commerce retailers in the world and has a $600 million-a-year deal with the Times to sell its e-books.
The deal was announced in June.
The Times is owned by Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos.
Amazon and the Times have partnered on the purchase of e-readers from both companies.
In April, Amazon bought a majority stake in the Times for $1.1 billion, but the deal was never finalized.
