New York University bookstore sells its first book, a tribute to Bob Dylan

NEW YORK — New York’s Bob Dylan Book Club will host a second edition in early 2018, and this time it will be sold in online book stores.

The event will take place Saturday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m.

ET at the University of Rochester’s Bookshop Online store, with the proceeds benefiting the Bob Dylan Center for Human Rights and the Bob Doolittle Fund for American Journalism, which promotes American journalism.

The first edition of the Bob and Ray Doolitt Fund’s Bob and Rene Doolitting Book of Essays was published in 2009.

The second edition, which was published July 29, 2018, has sold nearly 700,000 copies and has been recognized by the New York Times as one of the top 20 best books in the country.

This time around, Bob Dylan’s widow, Susan, has pledged the proceeds from the Bob & Ray Fund to the Dylan Center.

“Bob Dylan’s voice is one of America’s greatest literary achievements, and we are honored to have him as a member of our Bob & Rene family,” Susan Dooliting said in a statement.

“Bob is a true American patriot who lived the dream of a nation, but he also served as a model for all of us who have been privileged to work alongside him over the years.

I’m proud to be a part of this effort.”
