A book is now available online for free, but the library will need to pay a subscription fee.
Amazon announced Thursday that it will now sell all of its books for $9.99, with an additional $3.99 per month.
The price is a drop from the $14.99 that it charges on average to download a book.
Amazon also said it will add a free e-book reader app for iPad and iPhone.
Users can purchase a Kindle Unlimited membership, which allows unlimited access to Kindle books and other digital products.
That includes books, magazines, audiobooks, audiocassette tapes, DVDs, video games, and more.
Amazon also will add $20 credit toward the price of any books purchased from the Kindle store.
