TRINIDAD BOOKSHOPS: LONDON, Aug 17 (Reuters) – Online booksellers such as Amazon and Amazon Prime have a good reason to be cautious: the online world is a dangerous place to be.
In the last few years, the number of online attacks on retailers has skyrocketed and they’re now battling the same attackers they once faced.
One online bookseller who recently received death threats told Reuters he received nearly 300 threats in the last 24 hours.
Amazon has been hit by attacks and other cyber threats for a long time.
Last year, Amazon launched a website called CyberGhost which allows users to report cyber-related issues, such as scams, fraud and phishing.
Amazon says it has taken action to improve security on its website, and it is taking the threat of a cyberattack seriously.
It says its policies prevent and respond to any threats and that its teams are constantly reviewing new security measures and adding new features.
