U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said Thursday that the United States would be ready to launch a new U.K.-based online retailer, Alhuda, in the near future.
Guterres made the comments during an interview with a local newspaper in Madrid.
“We have a real interest in the U.”s economy and its potential to be a leader in global trade, Guterre said.
“And we have a desire to build a brand with a brand identity, to create a brand that can have the global reach that it has,” Guterrez said.
He said the U’s “great innovation” of using U.s data to help other countries improve their economies has been recognized around the world.
Alhuda was launched by Guterrels daughter, Maria, a Spanish politician and the daughter of former President Sebastián Guterregas.
The website has over 60,000 products, including books, toys, apparel and health-care products.
Guterrenas daughter Maria Alhudia also founded a local bookseller, which sold books to residents of Spain.
