Online bookseller Amazon.ca is now accepting applications for its Book &Tail Award.
The award will be presented at the 2018 Book <Tails Book &astro Awards in Toronto on December 4, 2018.
“We’re thrilled to be supporting the Best Online Bookseller Award,” said David Worsley, Chief Executive Officer, Amazon Canada.
While many online bookselling services have established strong brands across their respective markets, the Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk platforms are among the largest online bookseller platforms, according to a recent report from eMarketer.
More than 3 million people are now subscribed to these services, according the report.
Amazon is the fourth-largest online bookstore in Canada with a market share of 25.9 percent, followed by Book >T; Bookstore, Book &ad; Bookshop, and Book &nt; Book.com.
The Best Online Publisher Award is given to the largest e-book publisher or bookseller who has been recognized by the American Booksellers Association (ABA).
The ABA is also recognized for the best bookseller program in the U.S., which awards five nominations per year.
This year’s award was named after two Canadian bookselllers who died at the hands of drug cartels.
Formerly known as Book &ant; Books Canada, the company was renamed Amazon Book &all in 2013.
The award was established in 1997, but has been bestowed on only three people since then: author Michael Apted, and the late Michael B. Lewis.
